Hello
I'm Jackson Howell, and I'm from Coronado, California.
I grew up in a military family here in Coronado, and I've always had a pretty serious obsession with anything and everything automotive.
Cars have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Some of my earliest memories are from the Coronado Speed Festival walking around the closed-down airfield on a military base.
Watching those cars both new and old drive around a makeshift track was enthralling. There was just something about seeing those cars out there, whether parked or moving, that stuck with me.
As you can probably tell from the photo of my nine-year-old self posing for the camera, that fascination didn't stop. With the help of my dad, he was able to get a friend to let me drive his son's go-kart.
From that point on, I knew I had to do it.
There was just one problem: my parents didn't have the disposable income for their son to go around burning rubber and gasoline. So, for the time being, that idea was short-lived.
But it never really left me.
That passion eventually led me to the racetrack.
From my first track days to working toward my SCCA competition license, I'm now taking the next step toward wheel-to-wheel racing in Spec Miata.
Jackson Howell Racing is my way of documenting that journey from Coronado to the racetrack and wherever motorsports takes me next.
My Mission
My mission is simple: to build a career in motorsports from the ground up.
I'm starting with the fundamentals—developing my skills on track, earning my SCCA competition license, and beginning my wheel-to-wheel racing career in Spec Miata.
But I don't want the journey to stop there. My goal is to continue progressing through different levels of motorsports, eventually competing in endurance racing and pursuing opportunities in professional racing.
Along the way, I want to document everything—the cars, the races, the successes, the setbacks, and everything that comes with chasing this dream.
This is only the beginning.
